How to Use Live Mode on Stage With a Digital Setlist

Live Mode is the part of a digital setlist that actually makes a difference on stage — not just having the setlist available, but having it displayed, navigable, and readable in the conditions you're actually performing in.

What Live Mode Is

Live Mode is a full-screen display mode designed for on-stage use. The current song is large and clearly visible. Tapping or clicking advances to the next song. Chord charts and lyrics are available in the same view, rendered at a size you can read from a mic stand.

It's designed to replace the floor setlist and the phone propped against the monitor with something that actually works in a live environment.

Setting Up Your Device

Any device with a browser works — phone, tablet, or laptop. A tablet in a stand at mic height is ideal. For guitarists and keyboard players, a phone propped on the amp or keys works fine.

Set your screen brightness to maximum before going on stage and turn off auto-lock. Nothing kills the flow like your screen going dark between songs.

Running the Show

Before you go on, open your setlist in Dashplan and activate Live Mode. The display shows the current song at the top, with the next song below it. Tap to advance. If you need to check the bridge, the chord chart is one more tap away.

If you call an audible and want to jump to a different song — maybe the dance floor needs something heavier — you can jump directly to any song in the list without scrolling through everything.
